COVID-19 cases surge to 2,171 in Afghanistan

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Afghanistan reached 2,171, with 323 new cases registered in 20 provinces over the past 24 hours.
Speaking at a press conference, deputy minister of public health, Wahidullah Majroh, said that the new cases were registered in Kandahar with 45, Balkh with 41, Herat with 34, Kabul with 20, Paktia with 10, Logar with 10, Ghazni with 12, Samangan with 9, Panjshir with 9, Baghlan with 5, Nangarhar with 5, Takhar with 8, Kunduz with 7, Badghis with 4, Wardak with 4, Laghman with 3, Paktika with 2, Parwan with 2, Faryab with 1 and Sar-e Po province with 1.
Also, he said that three people died of the COVID-19 and four others recovered within the past 24 hours.
The ministry official also warned that the COVID-19 cases will increase significantly, unless the people of Afghanistan take the ministry’s their instructions seriously.
