Qaisar district in northern Faryab Province has fallen to the Taliban, according to reports.

The Taliban fighters carried out attacks on Qaisar district building and police headquarters last night.

Fazl Haq Mohammadi, a member of Faryab Provincial Council, told Arezo TV that at least 15 security personnel, including Qaisar district police chief, had been killed in the attack.

The Taliban are also said to have taken a number of security forces with them. Local and security officials have not yet commented on the report.
