Afghan first Vice President General Abdurrashid Dostum has described the final results of the presidential elections as “illegal” and urged his supporters to celebrate the victory of The Stability and Convergence team led by Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah.
“We wholeheartedly support Dr. Abdullah’s stance. We do not recognize the election commission,” he said.
Describing the victory of the State Building electoral ticket [led by incumbent president Ashraf Ghani] as illegal, Dostum called on his supporters to get ready for appointment of governmental officials. “The people of north have to be prepared to select their own governors,” he insisted.
The Afghan first vice president also urged his supporters “not to be afraid of threats and repressions.” He also warned that “no government or system will be created unless the rights of people are regarded.”
This comes as the Independent Election Commission[IEC] on Tuesday night declared Ashraf Ghani as the winter of the presidential with 50.64 percent of votes while, his key opponent Abdullah has secured 39.52 percent.
