An employee of the electronic National Identity Cards (e-NIC) distribution center was killed by armed robbers in Mazar-e-Sharif on Wednesday night, local security officials said.

Spokesman for Balkh police, Adel Shah Adel, said, Mohammad Zia Modaber was killed by gunmen inside his house.

Mr. Adel added that two women were also injured in the incident.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, police said.
