An explosion has ripped through a crowded funeral ceremony in eastern Nangarhar Province on Tuesday morning, killing and injuring dozens.

According to initial reports, the blast occurred at funeral of a local police commander in Khewa district, leaving 60 killed and 100 wounded.

The ceremony was attended by local officials including a member of the Afghan parliament, who got injured in the incident, reports say.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
