An explosion in the western Herat province of Afghanistan claimed the lives of three people and injured four others.

Local officials in Herat say the explosion occurred while officers of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) were neutralizing explosives placed in a car outside the province’s intelligence headquarters.

No group or individual claimed responsibility for the explosion.
