An explosion in a coal mine in northern Samangan province of Afghanistan killed seven miners, according to local authorities.

Security authorities said the miners were killed on Monday morning (22 April) in Dar-e-Suf district due to inhalation of toxic gases.

Seven miners were killed when an explosion in a nearby coal mine earlier this month caused two tunnels to collapse.
