An explosion has rocked the Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday (5 September) at 10:10 local time.

According to initial reports, a suicide attacker blew his explosives laden vehicle in Shash Darak area of Kabul’s ninth police precinct.

Interior Ministry Spokesman Nusrat Rahimi says Afghan forces have cordoned off areas close to the explosion. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
