Five killed in flooding in Afghanistan eastern province

Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for Nangarhar provincial governor has told media outlets that heavy rainfall and flooding in Rodat and Sorkhrud districts of the province has claimed the lives of five people including two women and two children.
According to reports, three people also sustained injuries in the flooding and 17 are missing.
Floods have destroyed homes, swept away livestock and rendered the main highway south of Kabul impassable, the reported added.
The State Ministry for Natural Disasters Management, in a released statement, said that heavy rainfall is anticipated in the next few days in all provinces of the country.
The statement added that 25 provinces of Afghanistan will witness flooding, calling on residents of eastern, western and central provinces to have preparations in this regard.
