Former Afghan TV anchor assassinated in southern province

Ne’mat Rawan, former news anchor of privately-owned ToloNews and a media official at the Ministry of Finance, was killed by unidentified gunmen in Kandahar on Thursday, according to local officials.
The incident took place at around 10:00 a.m. today in Kandahar City’s 14th security precinct.
No individual or group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
