Four Afghan forces, nine Taliban killed in Herat clashes

At least ten security forces including Afghan Local police (ALP) officers were killed and injured during a clash with Taliban insurgents in western Herat Province, according to local security officials.
Provincial Police Chief Aminullah Amarkhil said the clashes took place in Karokh district last night that claimed the lives of 4 police officers including people uprising forces and injured 6 others.
A senior commander of the Taliban who led Taliban fighters in Badghis and some districts of Herat province was also killed along with eight others in the clash, he added.
In a separate report, Taliban militants carried out an attack on a security outpost on Islam Qala-Herat highway on Saturday, killing 6 security personnel.
