Four civilians have lost their lives as a mortar fired by anti-government militants hit a residential house in northern Faryab Province, local officials said.
The incident occurred in Bish Kapa village of Qaisar district, leaving three children and a woman killed and another woman wounded.
Provincial Police Spokesman Abdul Karim Yuresh said the mortar fired by anti-government militants had hit a residential house.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the report
The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) in its annual report on civilian casualties said last week that 10,772 civilians were killed and injured in 2019. The Taliban have been blamed for more deaths, the report added.
