Germany has urged the Taliban to ensure the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan, in particular their right to work and education.

Jasper Wieck, Special Representative of the German Government for Afghanistan and Pakistan tweeted that in his meeting with the Taliban delegation and representatives of some countries in Oslo, Norway, he called for equal access of women and men to education, employment and social activities.

Some members of the Afghan society who attended the Norway meeting expressed hope that their demands, including the right of women to education and work, would be accepted by the Taliban.
