Ghani, Trump discuss peace via phone

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and his US counterpart Donald Trump talked about the peace process in a telephone conversation on Saturday evening.
The US president during the phone conversation has expressed satisfaction over signing of the US-Taliban peace deal.
“Mr. Trump insisted he believe in the leadership of President Ghani and capability of the Afghan republic system to implement next steps for peace,” the presidential statement said.
After month-long negotiations, the United States and the Taliban signed a peace deal during a ceremony attended by representatives from more than 30 countries in the Qatari capital, Doha.
