Leaders of Tajikistan and Afghanistan stressed the need to expand cooperation between the two countries.in various fields.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani left for the Tajikistan capital Dushanbe this morning to attend the Heart of Asia- Istanbul Process summit.

The two presidents exchanged views on the expansion of Dushanbe-Kabul relations and cooperation in various fields.

Imam Ali Rahman said that the cooperation between the two countries was based on the principle of brotherhood and good neighborliness.

Afghanistan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said that Tajikistan been a key country in the developments in the region.

Mr. Ghani added that Afghanistan and Tajikistan had no fundamental differences and that Kabul wanted the border between the two countries to become a border of cooperation, coordination and empathy.

Afghanistan and Tajikistan also signed cooperation documents in security, trade, transit, transport, energy and cultural fields on the sidelines of the Heart of Asia Summit.
