At least 70 Taliban fighters were killed and injured in separate military operations conducted by Afghan security forces in various parts of the country, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said in a statement Monday.

57 Taliban fighters were killed and ten others were injured during separate air and ground operations in Faryab, Sar-e Pol, Kandahar and Farah provinces over the past 24 hours, the statement added.

Several hideouts of the Taliban were destroyed and quantity of their weapons were seized by Afghan security forces, the statement further added.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
