Afghan security forces and Taliban have been engaging in fierce fighting since last night, after Taliban fighters stormed Kunduz city from several directions on 30 August.

According to reports, Taliban have taken control of Kunduz hospital and some villages. Taliban have also released a footage showing they are entering parts of Kunduz city.

Elsewhere, Afghan air forces have intensified their aerial raids on parts of the city to target Taliban fighters.

Afghan ministry of defense reported to have dispatched fresh forces to Kunduz to repel Taliban attacks.

Kunduz police spokesman Sayed Sarwar Hussaini on his Facebook page assured Kunduz residents of the readiness of the security forces against the insurgents.
