Officials at the Central Prison of western Herat Province said Wednesday that more than 300 prisoners had been released from the prison on the occasion of the 29th victory anniversary of Mujahidin.

Director of Herat prison, Amrullah Noorzai, said that 300 men and eight women whose cases had been investigated were released.

The remaining 191 prisoners’ imprisonment term is reduced following a presidential decree.
