India supports a peace that is accepted by Afghans – Modi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the country supported a peace process that is accepted by the people of Afghanistan.
Modi met with Chairman of the High Council for National (CHNR) Abdullah Abdullah on Thursday morning.
Abdullah said he provided a brighter image of the ongoing peace talks in Doha to the Indian PM and thanked the country for its stance toward the peace negotiations.
Modi said: A peace that is accepted by the people of Afghanistan is accepted by India. New Delhi supports a durable peace and stability in Afghanistan, because with the advent of peace and stability, there will be no longer a basis for the activities of terrorist groups.
The Indian PM has also assured New Delhi’s continued assistance for Afghanistan.
Abdullah Abdullah arrived in India two days ago. Earlier, he visited Pakistan and is slated to pay visits to Uzbekistan, China and Turkey.
The objectives of the visits are to strengthen regional consensus concerning the Afghan peace process.
