A senior commander of the Taliban was killed along with five others in northern Jowzjan Province.

In a released statement, the 209 Shaheen Military Corps in north said the Taliban fighters were killed during clashes with Afghan security forces in Migajik district of Jowzjan.

Seven other Taliban fighters including two of their senior commanders got injured during the clashes, the statement added.

An Afghan army solider sustained injuries in the crossfire, according the statement.

Taliban have so far not made any comment on the report.
