Kidnapped doctor released in Herat – police

An Afghan doctor kidnapped by gunmen in Afghanistan’s western province of Herat was released Tuesday, police said.
Dr. Shamsuddin Jami was abducted two days ago in Ghorian district of Herat province and was released yesterday in a joint operation by police and commando forces in Kohsan district of Herat province, local security officials said.
Three kidnappers have been arrested in connection with the incident.
