At least seven civilians were killed and six others were injured in a mortar shell attack on a residential house in Talwaka district of Kunduz Province, the ministry of Defense said in a statement on Wednesday.

The mortar shell fired by the Taliban hit a house on Tuesday night, the statement added.

Women and children are among the casualties, according to local officials.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
