Mortar shell kills one, injures three in northern province of Afghanistan

Local sources say that a mortar shell hit Baitimur village in Chemtal district of northern Balkh province, killing one and injuring three others.
According to Balkh provincial police spokesman Adel Shah Adel, a woman was killed in the incident and two children and a man sustained injuries.
Confirming the incident, Chemtal District Chief Abdul Matin said that the mortal shell hit a residential house on Sunday evening (15 September).
The injured children and man have been taken to Mazar Regional Hospital for treatment.
