NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg says the only way to achieve peace is to start the intra-Afghan negotiations.

“We can only have lasting peace in Afghanistan, if there is an inter-Afghan negotiation, an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process We support it,” he said.

Admiring the Afghan security forces’ capability in the fight against terrorism, NATO chief also said that the organization remained committed to train and advise these forces.

“There is a huge achievement that we now have a strong Afghan security force which is able to fight terrorism themselves. The best way we can do that is continue to train and help the Afghan security forces so they can create peace and stability in their own country,” he added.
