The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has called on the Taliban to immediately put an end to violence and enter talks with the Afghan government.

In a statement, the organization said that the current level of violence was unacceptable and that the Taliban should promptly end the violence.

The statement has also welcomed selection of the Afghan government’s negotiating team and urged the Taliban to enter talks without any delay.

NATO has also urged the Taliban to abide by their commitments within the peace deal to ensure that Afghanistan is not once again used as a terrorist safe haven.

The statement has also called on the Afghan political leaders to put aside their disputes and work on formation of an inclusive government.
