A car bombing in northern Balkh Province killed one and injured eight others.

A suicide attacker rammed a corolla type car packed with explosives in the convoy of Hashem Khan Ahmadzai, a local police commander at 10:20 a.m, Provincial Police Spokesman Adel Shah Adel said.

One soldier was killed and eight others were wounded in the incident, Adel Shah said, adding that Hashem Khan has sustained minor injuries.

The injured were taken to Abu Ali Sina-e Balkhi regional hospital.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
