Police in northern Balkh Province reported to have arrested five armed robbers in Mazar-e-Sharif City.

In a released statement, Balkh police headquarters said that the individuals accused of stealing mobile phones, bullying and harassing people were arrested from various parts of Mazar City.

Police has also seized two pistols and two motorcycles from the robbers, according to the statement.

This comes as Mazar residents have voiced serious concerns over an increase in activities of armed robbers in the city in recent weeks.
