US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday met with the Afghan government and the Taliban negotiating teams in Doha, Qatar.

Voicing concern over the increase of violence after release of Taliban inmates, the Afghan delegation told Pompeo that the people of Afghanistan wanted a permanent ceasefire in the country.

In the meantime, the Taliban representatives in Doha discussed the issues of removing of their names from the UN blacklist, releasing of their remaining prisoners and intra-Afghan talks.
