Seven villages cleared of Taliban in Balkh

Afghan security officials in Balkh say that seven villages have been cleared of the Taliban in the northern province.
Khwaja Gholak, Shahr-e Mawlana, Maktab Bahawuddin, upper and lower Ghondan, Hiwad and Palas Posh villages have been cleared of the Taliban in a joint military operation, the 209 Shaheen Military Corps in north said in a statement, adding that several mines were also neutralized.
Afghan security forces are making significant progresses in other areas as well, the statement further added.
