Street named after Ahmad Shah Massoud in France

A street near the Champs-Élysées Presidential Palace in Paris was named after Ahmad Shah Massoud.
The street plaque was unveiled during a ceremony attended by Paris mayor and some Afghan politicians and supporters of Massoud in the 8th district of Paris.
Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, wrote in a tweet that “Commander Massoud will forever be remembered as the hero of freedom and the struggle against darkness.”
On Friday, Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar, in a telephone call with the French Foreign Minister, thanked the country for naming a street in Paris after Ahmad Shah Massoud.
