Takhar’s deputy police chief killed in clashes with Taliban

Raz Mohammad Doorandish, the deputy police chief of northeastern Takhar Province was killed in clashes with the Taliban on Tuesday night, according to local sources.
Provincial Police Spokesman Khalil Asir said Doorandish lost his life at hospital due to serious injuries he sustained during clashes with the Taliban in Masjid-e Safid area of Baharak district.
The clashes also left several other police officers killed and injured, he added.
Local officials also reported that clashes where underway in Baharak district between Afghan security forces and the Taliban.
