Taliban attack checkpoint in Afghan north, killing six soldiers

At least six Afghan security forces were killed as Taliban militants stormed their checkpoint in Sholgara district of northern Balkh Province.
Security officials in Balkh Police headquarters say that the attack took place on Monday night (1 April) on several checkpoints in Sheikh Ali precinct.
Adel Shah Adel, the spokesman for the provincial police chief, says that five other members of the security forces were wounded in Monday night’s attack in the district of Sholgara.
In the meantime, security sources reported that a checkpoint of people uprising forces collapsed to the Taliban in the district.
