At least five Afghan security forces were killed and two others were wounded after Taliban fighters stormed their outpost in Dawlat Abad district of northern Balkh Province.

Confirming the incident, local officials said the attack was carried out late in the night by the Taliban fighters on a security outpost in the center of Dawlat Abad district.

Provincial Governor Spokesman Munir Farhad says that Afghan security engaged in fighting with the Taliban fighters, forcing team to retreat. The clashes lasted two hours, he added.
