A delegation of the Taliban led by the group’s political leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, held talks with Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov in Tashkent on Thursday (8 July).

Taliban spokesman Sohail Shaheen has said that the ongoing peace process, national projects in Afghanistan and greater bilateral ties would be discussed with Uzbek officials.

This comes as the eighth round of talks between US and Taliban representatives wrapped up in Doha on Tuesday (6 July).
