Five policemen were killed in a Taliban infiltrator attack in southern Kandahar Province.

A security source said that a Taliban infiltrator opened fire at a police checkpoint in Kandahar’s Panjwayee district, killing five soldiers and handing over some equipment and ammunition to the Taliban.

But another source said eight policemen were killed in the incident.

Local and security officials have not yet commented on the report.
