Taliban kill 27 local forces in Takhar, Balkh

At least 19 people uprising forces were killed as a group of Taliban fighters stormed their base in northeastern Takhar Province.
Provincial Police Spokesman Jawad Hejri said Taliban carried out an overnight attack on Khwaja Ghaar police headquarters, killing 19 local forces and injuring five others.
Khwaja Ghaar district chief Mohammad Omar said that Taliban took away military equipment of the police HQs.
In a separate report, nine Afghan security forces lost their lives in a Taliban attack in Balkh Province.
Confirming the incident, Provincial Police Spokesman Adel Shah Adel said the Taliban carried out an attack on Sholgara district, killing nine police and people uprising forces and injuring a number of civilians.
Five Taliban fighters including one of their key commanders were killed in Afghan forces shelling, Adel added.
