Taliban mine planter arrested in Balkh

A mine planter of the Taliban has been arrested in Balkh Province, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said in a statement.
The detainee was involved in several explosions in Balkh, the NDS statement said, adding that he was arrested with quantity of explosives.
The Taliban has not commented on the report.
In a separate report, members of a family say that their son was kidnapped and killed by thieves in Camp Sakhi area of Mazar-e-Sharif.

Carrying the coffin of the slain, members of his family protested in front of Balkh Provincial office, accusing security institutions of failing to prevent security incidents in Balkh.
