Taliban suffer heavy casualties in Kandahar

At least 90 Taliban fighters were killed in southern Kandahar Province, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said in a statement on Saturday.
Afghan security forces repelled Taliban attacks on Panjwayee, Zherai, Arghandab and Maiwand districts on Friday, inflicting heavy casualties on the insurgents, the statement added.
90 Taliban fighters were killed and nine others were injured during the clashes. Afghan forces also discovered and neutralized 15 mines, the statement further said.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
