Taliban suffer heavy casualties in Kandahar

Afghan security forces inflicted heavy casualties on the Taliban fighters in southern Kandahar Province, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
88 Taliban fighters were killed in an aerial raid conducted by Afghan forces in Zherai district of Kandahar Province, the statement added.
In a separate report, nine armed Taliban fighters were killed during a firefight with the Afghan security forces in Shah Walikot district of Kandahar.
The Taliban fighters have not yet commented on the reports.
