Afghan security forces have killed Taliban Zakat collector and 29 others of the group’s fighters in Badghis and Kandahar provinces.

Nine Taliban fighters were killed in an airstrike in Bala Murghab district of Badghis Province while they were plotting an attack on Afghan security forces, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Elsewhere, 20 Taliban fighters were killed after Afghan security forces targeted their gathering in Arghandab district of Kandahar, the defense ministry added.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the reports.
