Three individuals including a child were killed in a mine explosion in Panjwayee district of southern Kandahar Province.

Confirming the incident, provincial police spokesman, Jamal Naser Barekzai, said the explosion took  place after a magnetic mine attached to a motorcycle went off.

The mine was attached by anti-government militants, Barekzai added. However, the Taliban denied any involvement.
