Total COVID-19 cases in Afghanistan reach 4,402

Afghan Public Health Ministry reported to have registered 361 new positive cases of the new coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
The total number of people infected with COVID-19 in Afghanistan has risen to 4,402 with 361 new cases registered in the past 24 hours, Deputy Health Minister Wahid Majroh said on Sunday.
117 new cases have been registered in Kabul, 59 in Herat 31 in Balkh, 26 in Kandahar, 21 in Baghlan, 18 in Farah, 12 in Laghman, 11 in Wardak, 11 in Samangan, 9 in Panjshir, 8 in Nangarhar, 8 in Parwan, 7 in Kunar, 5 in Helmand, 4 in Badakhshan, 4 in Ghazni, 3 in Jowzjan, 3 in Sar-e Pol, 2 in Paktika, 1 in Zabul and 1 in Paktia province, Majroh added.
Five patients have also died of the COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 120 countrywide. 558 people have so far recovered.
The deputy health minister warned of a humanitarian catastrophe unless people take health instructions seriously. This comes as some provinces have lifted lockdown restrictions.
