Two explosions rocked the city of Mazar-e-Sharif today morning at 08:30 local time.

The explosions claimed the lives of two children and injured nine others including a military officer, according to local security officials.

Two mines went off in front of Balkh district chief residence close to ninth police precinct, officials said.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the explosions.
