Twin explosions kill 16 in Samangan coal mines

At least 16 workers of two coal mines have been killed in twin explosions in Dara-e Sof district of northern Samangan Province.
The incidents occurred on Tuesday afternoon due to illegal excavations, local officials said.
Provincial Governor Abdul Latif Ebrahimi said they had sent an operational team to rescue those trapped under the debris.
Tens of people lose their lives annually due to illegal diggings in Dara-e Sof coal mines in Samangan Province.
