Two districts cleared of Taliban in north

Afghan forces have cleared two districts in northern Balkh Province of the Taliban fighters, according to the defense ministry.
The ministry said in a statement that Nahr-e Shahi and Balkh districts were cleared of the Taliban during a cleanup operation launched by Afghan forces in volatile regions.
More than 50 Taliban fighters have been killed since the cleanup operation dubbed “Shaheen” conducted by Afghan forces in Shortapa, Zari, Chemtal and Chaharbolak districts, the statement further added.
Taliban has so far not commented on the report.
