The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, met with the Acting Minister of Interior Affairs, Serajuddin Haqqani and Minister of Migration and Returnees, Khalil Rahman Haqqani.

During the meetings, Martin Griffiths said that the ban on women working for NGOs has slowed down the delivery of aid. He called for removal of restrictions against women.

The acting minister of migration told the UN official that the humanitarian aid to Afghanistan should not be conditional.

Separately, the acting minister of interior affairs stressed that the suspension of girls’ education was not permanent and the Islamic Emirate was trying to solve the problem.
