Signing of political agreement between President Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah has been welcomed by some countries and international institution.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in a telephone call with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the new Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation has welcomed the commitment by the two leaders to act immediately in support of prompt entry into intra-Afghan negotiations.

Secretary Pompeo congratulated the two leaders for reaching an agreement on inclusive governance for Afghanistan.

US Special Envoy for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad has urged both Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah not to repeat mistakes of the National Unity Government(NUG).

Khalilzad said in his twitter it was time to meet the demands of the people of Afghanistan and put an end to conflicts in Afghanistan.

The US envoy also called on Abdullah to honestly support peace efforts and take prompt actions in this regard.

In a separate report, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a telephone conversation with Abdullah Abdullah said his country supported Afghanistan in reaching a regional consensus and ensuring peace and stability.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan(UNAMA) has described the agreement as an opportunity for Afghan leaders to take practical steps for peace and in the fight against the COVID-19.
