US to sign peace accord after violence reduction – White House
13 Feb 2020
The peace agreement would be signed once the Taliban act upon their promises and take actions to reduce the level of violence, the White House said in a statement.
Some US officials have also told the New York Times that signing of the peace agreement between the US and Taliban would pave the ground for end of the USA’s longest military involvement in Afghanistan.
The US officials also said that in principle, the agreement had been approved and would be finalized within the next several weeks.
