US urges citizens to avoid Afghanistan travel
18 Jan 2021
Following the increase in terrorist incidents and criminal violence in the country, the US Embassy in Kabul issued a statement urging its citizens to avoid traveling to Afghanistan.
In recent weeks, increased terrorist attacks, kidnappings, criminal violence, and civil unrest have occurred throughout Afghanistan. Hotels, residential compounds, international organizations, embassies, and other locations frequented by foreign nationals, including U.S. citizens, are known to be under enduring threat,” it said.
The Embassy reminds US citizens that the Travel Advisory for Afghanistan is Level 4-Do Not Travel.
The US embassy further told its citizens that “if you decide to remain in Afghanistan, carefully consider all travel and limit trips only to those that are absolutely necessary.”
