Uzbek Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov has met with Marks Putzel, the deputy head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, UNAMA, in Tashkent.

I had a meeting with Deputy head UNAMA Markus Potzel and discussed the current situation in Afghanistan as well as the Uzbek president’s initiative on the formation of a high-level international negotiating group to prepare and agree with the Afghan authorities an algorithm for the phased fulfillment of the obligations of the parties, Norov tweeted.

UNAMA has also tweeted that it will continue to work with all regional actors to contribute to meaningful peace efforts in Afghanistan.
